Last Saturday, as part of a series of events during 2019 to mark 10 years since the North Lakes Foodbank opened its doors to help the local community, the original photo taken outside the first Foodbank Distribution Centre in Cockermouth on the day it opened was recreated.
This was then followed by a gathering of local supporters at the current Foodbank Centre in Cockermouth, at Lorton Street Methodist Church, to mark the day.
Andrew Robinson, Director, North Lakes Foodbank said ‘we are not here to celebrate 10 years as we would all prefer that Foodbanks were not needed but instead we are here to mark the day and to use it as an opportunity to thank all our volunteers and supporters for their loyalty over the years’.
