'More than Food' - Cooking at Maryport Foodbank

Yesterday saw a trial for the roll out of food demonstrations at Maryport Foodbank. NLFB has been fortunate to be awarded a grant through Asda to prepare recipe cards, deliver demonstrations and provide budgeting advice during the summer holidays at three centres ( Maryport, Workington & Whitehaven). A tin of beans, corned beef and a packet of mashed potato were transformed into corned beef hash, cooked and eaten. Those taking part enjoyed the experience and the chance to eat what they'd prepared. The purpose of these demonstrations is to show the variety of meals that can be cooked with food provided within the three day food boxes that are given to clients.
