On Thursday evening Adrian, the project manager of the North Lakes Foodbank, gave a talk at Penrith Methodist Church about the need for foodbanks in the local area. In Penrith the food bank is operated by the Salvation Army. As it happened, a homeless gentleman, Philip, came into the church before the presentation and Adrian was able to give a practical demonstration by cooking a hot meal in just 15 minutes! Toiletries were purchased and Philip chose to leave once he'd eaten. Only then did the presentation begin.
